Cancer Blows Again!

Made my second "Cancer Blows" handkerchief. This one was requested from a facebook friend with quite a story (not mine to tell). As soon as I posted the pic another facebook friend requested one. I really like making them- the only issue is I have to iron on one letter at a time. Soon I will figure out how to make a template that I can iron on the whole thing at one time. That will be good.

Cancer Blows!

Someone I love a lot has been diagnosed with cancer (again). Seriously, what is it with cancer- I hate it so much.

This person is on facebook and hasn't mentioned that he/she has cancer, so I'm not saying who but I HAD to share this hankie that I made! When crisis strikes- what do I do? I stitch. What did I make- a hankie. My clever husband, dad and brother helped me come up with the slogan "Cancer Blows". Funny, huh? Hankie...blows...

Since I posted the picture on facebook I already had friend message me with the cancer journey of someone really close to her. She would like one of the hankies- she said, "it would make it so much easier to shed tears in a hankie that speaks the truth." Preach sister, preach.

Cupcakes for Christy

This is my sister-in-law Christy. She's awesome. As our little cousin Natalie says, "you two are just alike!" It's true- there are many similarities. We're both beautiful and brilliant (and totally humble). We also both work in ministry. She's a campus minister at Belmont University. We share a love of Henri Nouwen and many, many other things. She's fun and crafty and has quite a bit of Martha Stewart in her. She's also an incredible caretaker. To honor her, I brought her a special homemade treat on the day her mom had surgery. Treats for the caretaker. In fact cupcakes for the caretaker (something else we both love!). Here's the apron:
